This song is one of my favorite songs of all time, not just xmas songs. We did two songs in 2012. 2012 was probably my favorite year we were a band. We released It Can Kill and played a ton of shows. We had a xmas party. We recorded these two songs. Full disclosure, we originally recorded this with the lyrics unchanged, but in 2019 decided to fix that. I love the original, and I don't hold anything against it's writers, but it felt like if we risked even one person hearing that word and feeling pain from it, it wasn't worth keeping there. I'm glad we made that decision. Maggie is too.
